2000 Lightning Safety Recall 01S24

If you own a 00 Bolt, you may get a letter about possible intermittent wiper power failure and possible fire hazzard. I just got one from Ford on my now gone 00. FYI

You all think that's why the Lightning in those photos about 2 months ago burnt up?

don't forget 01S21!

I don't think that this one 01S21 applies to 99-00 L owners, but 01 owners don't forget to have your seatbelt buckle recall checked. Mine failed, had to replace the driver side.

later,
chris

Hey thanks for posting this. I had mine at the dealer last week for the clunk fix and they told me there was a new recall for the wipers but I didn't get all the details.

Mine is supposed to be fixed when the parts for the clunk finally come in. So far the parts have been ordered for 5 days and still are not here.

Have a whopping 4700 miles on the beast since I bought it in July 2000. Never been driven in any inclement weather, but thanks for the post. I don't want to have a marshmallow roast over my baby.

Yes, we drive them in the rain. I live in Mobile, AL, the rainiest city in the US (well depends on if Seattle or New Orleans beat us out that year or not). It's no different than washing it or driving it when it's damp outside (after rain or dew) or foggy.

It's a truck w/ a great engine and decent suspension. It's not going to be worth 50k one day.
