Paging thepawn...

I was reading a post where you hard-wired your radar detector. Have you got any tips on getting into the overhead console, and which wires are which?

Thanks,
Todd

I ran mine along the top of the cab underneath the headliner, behind the pillar cover, and unerneath the dash. Good luck.

Heya,

Its not too hard to open up the overhead console. It just snaps on (like everything else in the truck). The two main snaps are on the sides of the garage door opener. There is also one screw at the front of the console (brass screw if I remember right), and one somewhere toward the middle (in the garage door opener section) if I remember right.

One you get the console down be a little careful as the wires for the compas/temp stuff are there, they just unplug rather easily.

The wire for power should be a white one (bottom right?). I tried to use the screw for a ground, but it didn't make one with the paint covering the top, so I just tapped the ground from the compass as well. (bottom left?)

Sorry, I should have taken better notes when I did it, and now I forget. :) I was so excited to check it out I put everything back togehter without noting what I did exactly. :)

Daniel

Excellent, thanks Daniel. That's a big help. Maybe this will be a good opportunity to document it and make a 'how-to' post.

Thanks for the response.
