Question Tranny filter question

I went to fordpartsonline to get a tranny filter for my 01 L. First off they didn't list anything for Lightning's but that is ok because I was just going to get a filter for a 4R100 trans. Well I punched in the info for a 2000 5.4(4R100) 2wd F-150 a got a price of 26.33. I thought what the heck I'll check and see what a E40D filter costs....same filter right? I punched in a vehicle that uses the E40D tranny and I got a price of 23.89 for it's filter. I thought both filter's were the same. Are there different filters out there that apply to the Lightning only? I didn't think there was but since the 4R100 and E40D use different filters now I'm wondering. Thanks Jeff

Jeff,

Might as well upgrade to the 4x4 pan and filter...

Pan f81z-7a194-ba

filter yc32-7a098-ba

I ordered mine from fordpartsonline also but chose a 2000 f250 powerstroke for the vehicle then added my L's VIN.

TIP: be sure to enter a telephone number as they will call for it will kick out an error on their end. Just explain what your doing, they've been through this a few times.

Good luck.

Bob I already have a B&M pan so I just need to replace the stock filter. The B&M pan uses the stock setup. thanks for the info. Jeff

I think you can use the 4x4 filter and cut it a little to work with the B&M pan.

Hey Jeff:

If you have the part number you want, give it to me and I'll get it for you with my discount. Takes 4 business days.

Also try to find that PCM part number for me.

The part number you want is YC3P-7G186-BA, there are different filters for different years, BUT, go to Autozone, ask for Deutch TF-325. It's the exact same part as installed at the factory for 19.00. The vendor who supplies us also sells to several other companies who put it their own box, I've checked abotu 6 different places and this is the cheapest one out there.

Hope this helps,

G
