With a few mods that are unconventional to a Lighting my 02' Lighting could have pulled that boat but better judgement prevailed and I replaced it with the right tool for the job. It was my daily driver for 11 years 166k miles and I ran it at our local track OFTEN.
so you traded it in on an ecojoke?? poor Lightning

You can kiss my ***. My ecoboost is a bad ***** fupper. Don't knock it until you try it. 440 ft/lbs of torque with a combined 17.5 mpg on 87 octane. Now I'm going list some Ford Lightning performance parts for sale so check it out and buy something.

I still have my 03 DSG W/about 96,000 on her now. (The 1st one owned in Kentucky bought from a dealer, get her on 12/22/02 as a Christmas gift to myself ) I just put a 4lb lower on her last year. Been stock all those years except Greg Evens valve body, and drop in K&N air filter. On my 2nd set of F1 even, though about to put the 3rd set on very soon.

Original owner '01 w/ 60K on the odometer. 500rwhp (Whipplecharged) since early 2006. I don't intend to sell, but the old adage is true... Everything is for sale at the right price.

We've had two. My 01 Bolt was my baby, but hubby wanted a Vette, so it went bye bye. Then "seller remorse" kicked in and we bought an 03. Now that one is gone too.
This place was red hot back then...if you missed one day there were 20 pages of new posts!!! Tons of info, lots of great people fabricating parts for everyone to share. Really one big happy Lightning community.
Obviously I come back to see what's going on and if any of those old threads have been revived.

I still have my 2002 Silver Lightning that I bought Brand New in April of 2002,and it has right at 45,000 Miles on it.There has been a couple of times I've thought about selling it to get a Shelby, but I just can't bring myself to it.But with the 2014 GT500's I've thought about it again, but I know I won't sell it.It's Paid For & in Great Shape, and still Fun as Ever to Drive!

Sold my 2003 Lightning about five years ago...maybe? I forgot. It was running high 10'swhen I sold it to a feller on the northeast coast somewhere. Last I heard he had dropped it off at JDM for a round of whiple charger type mods to get it in the low tens, heck, maybe high nines. I dunno how it ended. Jim Jr. Called me a few months after I sold it asking me the door code. Someone had locked the keys in it...LOL. a couple months back I get a text from a guy who said he owned it and ask me if I was the original owner. I gave him the low down and that was last I heard of it. He said it still looked new. I miss it for sure!

11 to 17 MPG probably has quite a lot to do with why most people eventually sell but best to use/abuse something else for the chores, then cruise the Lightning at weekends.
