A friend referred me to this site, and it has answered some of my questions.I went from a 97 F-150 4x4 (lived in VT)to an L (live in SC). So my first question is:I have a 2000 L and have put 5000 miles on it and I am ready to make mods, put I have a 5yr. warr. that I do not want to contradict. What can I do?
Who or what is JL and psp?
Is a cat back exhaust better than stock?
Do mass air meters and filters void warr.?
I have seen an L with a ram air hood. Is it just a hood or is it func.?
Thanks to all who reply!

Welcome aboard!!!! I hope I can answer a few of you questions.
1.) There are three big tuners for the gen II Lightning and they are JL, PSP and JDM. They all have great products to get you movin' fast.
2.) I have a Borla Cat-back and I LOVE the sound. I finally heard a Bassani full package ;last night and I am getting one of those next, very impressive!!!You won't see and HP gains from exhaust with our trucks due to them being forced air induction. That is where all the HP is made.
3.) Legally-----NO, a dealer cannot void your warranty with an mass air mod and most do not even try to. If you go with a mass air setup or ram air, you will have to get a chip to help compensate for increased air. If you don't, you will start to run lean.
4.) Cervinis sells a ram air hood and NO they are not functional. I have yet to see a functional ram air for the L. I think its because of the under hood design, it looks a little difficult to set it up.
