Last Night A Heads/Cam LS1 T/A and a 69 Blown Chevy Got Lightning Struck!!

Last night it got down in the 50's here in WV so I decided to bolt on the ET Streets and see if I could get into a little action. It wasn't long until this guy in a 69 Chevy stepside was wanting to race as long as I didn't use the nitrous. I was like sure. He has a totally forged 350 with a Blower. We raced a full 1/4 mile and with ET Streets and Hotchkis rear leafs I can launch my L on the street at 1200rpms with zero wheelspin. I blasted out of the whole and put 6 or so car lenghts on him and just let out of it. He was a good sport and I told him he just needs a little smaller blower pulley!! LOL

The next race was against my friend's 98 LS1 T/A with head work, cam, and all the usual bolt ons. We raced a full 1/4 mile and I didn't use the nitrous. At the launch I pulled a instant 2 1/2 cars and stayed that way all the way through the 1/4.

Later on I tried to get a well built Fox-body on the bottle to race but he wouldn't bite. For some reason once you add nitrous, you just about have to beg to get a street race even if the other guy has nitrous too.. I guess talk spreads fast in small towns!!

HankFan, Where in WV are you from? I'm from Huntington, just wondering if I've seen you around town.

Low_redL- I am from Princeton.

Easterisland- Yeah sometimes it hard to believe my self. When I ride in my friends T/A it feels like it would simply blow my truck away but when we race I always pull him out of the hole and stay there until the finish.

Thumbs up

HANKFAN,
Great story, I love reading about good kills.
What does your truck run on and off the bottle? I'm trying to figure how much gain to expect from the 75 dry-shot, I am hoping to have my nitrous on for next weekend (25th-26th) for the Fun Ford Weekend at Epping, NH. I'm dropping my truck off at the dealers Monday to have the new intercooler put in. They told me I will have it back for Wednesday. It will only give me a couple of nights to get it ready but I am hoping to have it ready for the race.

Bill
