Lightbulb Kenne Bell blower for L's: 80+hp???

In Kenne Bell's latest ad it says that a blower will be coming soon for Lightning's. It is a direct replacement for the Eaton and it will produce 80+ more HP. I can't find any other info about this, so have any of you heard anything about it. I would like to know how much cooler it runs (screws run up to 30% cooler then roots), and how much boost it uses to get the 80+ HP gain.

There was a post here not long ago about this same S/C. I seriously doubt they can get 80 more hp than the Eaton.

HI DBT, I am running a KB on my Y2K 5.4 non-L and running 6lbs of boost at about 7% increase per PSI of Boost. Which by the times I'm running it's probably less. I hope this sheds some light.

Some numbers

The blowers that KB uses come in three sizes, 91 ci, 109 ci, and 134 ci on the blowzilla. Our eaton is a 112 ci unit. The eaton on the supercoupe is a 90.

It sounds reasonable that if the KB has a larger displacement and runs cooler than the eaton that they would be able to generate better numbers than our blower. That said, I dont think 80hp is possible. Given that the eaton only adds 100hp to the stock engine i seriously doubt that an incrementally larger blower could drive another 80hp.

I suspect that when they release their unit, it will come with a chip tuned for their kit. That combo will then be compared to a stock truck. Given that a street PSP chip alone added more than 50 rwhp on the dyno, I think that another 30 from the new blower could be achieved for a total increase of 80hp over a stocker. I also think that the price/hp isnt going to be very compelling.

But thats just my 2c.

Wink

There will be replacement blowers worth having that will put an L at the 12.0 mark with no other mods other than tuning.Good things come to those that wait.
