Question Borla cat-back?

Anyone running a Borla cat-back system on their '99 or '00? If so, did you see any difference in the performance, subjective (sotp) or objective (dyno)?

Thumbs down

The borla catback is a quality piece but made my Lightning 1 tenth slower everytime i tested it on my g-tech and at the track!
The reason why it is slower in my opinion is borla claims there system is a true 2 1/2 cat back and after looking at it and my muffler shop confirming it is a 2 1/4 inch through the center with the tips on the muffler being expanded to 2 1/2 and this is very noticeable by looking at it because you can see where they bumped up the tips a 1/4 inch. It is barely louder than stock and i would go with the magnaflow system before this one!

The first mod I made was the Borla cat back. It was to get rid of the 90 mph vibration. It worked good for that, but everyone seems to be getting better times than me. I put the Borla put on before I ever went to the track so I don't know for sure if I lost time. Well I had straight pipes installed yesterday. It sounds great now! I may have lost a little torque, but it still feels good. It was $100 compared to the $400 Borla. The only problem I'm going to have now is avoiding stomping on the throttle in town. The cops can hear you a mile away! This is what the Lightning should sound like from the factory.

like easterisland said, it was my first mod done to my truck and I love the sound. You will not see an HP gains from this setup or Bassani or straight pipes. When I first got it, it sounded just like my stock exhaust but after it broke in, it sounds "awesome", best $500 I ever spent. You can hear it real good in my "track video" link on my sig.

I had a Borla on my older 97', didn't notice any power except at highway driving. But thats a different truck. ANyway I loved the sound of it. Don't think I want borla for the L though, I might stick with getting a Bassani.

I got it for the price. $1500 is too rich for my blood when it comes to exhaust.
