Airfilter....arggghhh

I went to the local parts store, and was looking for a replacement airfilter for my factory setup. They said Fram does't make one, neither does AC, but motorcraft does FA1682, but they don't carry it. Does anybody besides the dealer sell this??

Unhappy

I know what you are going through... I went to almost all of my local parts store to pick up a factory replacement air filter... Not a single one had it in stock. Most told me they could order one, and it would be there in a day or so. One of the place told me they didn't even make a Lightning in 1999...lol... Finally stopped at a dealer on the way home one day, and they didn't have one in stock either. Parts guy ordered one to keep in stock. I think he said it was around $16.

I just went ahead and picked up JL's ram air kit... Definatley more expensive than $16, but so far its been money well spent! I am however finding it more difficult to keep off the gas now... That blower sound is incredible, and my L feels much more responsive...

Can't find them at parts stores and the dealers don't keep them in stock, so what to do. Try www.fordpartsonline.com for $9.10 or order one at your dealer for $16 to $18. You make the call, it's your money. Either way you'll have to wait a week for your new filter.

I challenge you guys to look up the price of an 01 90mm MAF and boot. Don't look if you already bought one from somewhere else. It will only make you angry.
