Fog Lights Not Working
As the suject implies, they quit. One went and about a week later the other went. I have aftermarkets similar to the superwhites. However, I pulled both out and they are not blown. I replaced one with the original, but it still did not work. I checked the fuse block under the dash and on the firewall, per the instruction manual, but no fuses are blown. I even checked the wiring behind the bumper and everything looks in order. The indicator lights up on the dash that shows if they are on or not. Any suggestions? I am out of clues here.
Sounds like you have a open somewhere. I would take it to the dealer and let them trace the wires to find it. It also sounds as if those lights weren't the right ones....volts or currents ratings to low. If you get it fixed I would put the original bulbs back in or find ones that are exactly the same. Just my .02
test it yourself before taking it to a dealer..
all you need is a multimeter (or a test light for the cheap guys, LOL) and a friend..
have a friend sit in the truck so they can operate the switch.
take out the foglight housing, remove bulb and expose wires.
set your multimeter on DC (or hook up test light), and touch probes to correct wires.
have your friend turn foglights on, and see if you are getting any voltage on the multimeter (if you are using a test light, the light will light up)
if you are getting 12volts on both foglights, use the continuity setting on the multimeter to see if the bulb filament is broken.
also, do the continuity check on the foglight fuses..
sometimes a bulb and fuse can look just fine, but be blown where you cant see it.
if the wiring and bulbs are fine, then dammit, it should work.
make sure not to touch the bulbs.. wipe them off if you do.
they will blow if you get skin oils on them.
or,
have friend lay on ground in front of truck touching their tounge to the leads for the fogs.
turn them on.
if you hear them holler, its just a problem with the bulbs.. LOL
hope this helps,

I had the same problem with mine last year. I found out that there was a bad connection with the ground wire to the light itself. Definitely worth checking that before going back to the dreaded dealer.

Ditto on the bad ground wire connection, but make sure that the metal ring of the bulb itself is contacting the metal seat in the lens housing too.
Both of my factory fog lenses were cracked within 7,500 miles, and then glass was falling out by 15,000...so I finally broke down (pun intended, unfortunately, again) and bought some new ones myself instead of having to deal with the hassle of going back to a dealer to get them warranteed. But I didn't buy the factory ones this time, I went the cheap way out and bought replacements from Dallasmustang.com (over the phone), that I guess are the same/very similar to the ones out of the 87-93 GT's. Anyways, these lenses fit right in, the bulb hooks up fine, but the way the ground wire connects had to be modified a bit, and the spring clip that holds the bulb in was a bit different. I managed to get everything going, and all was fine in La-La land for about 10,000 miles; but as of late, they have been very tempermental.
When I turn the fogs on (pretty much anytime I'm driving other than from 9am to 3pm), if they light up right away- they'll stay on. If they don't turn on right away, all I have to do is tap on the lens to jolt "a" connection to get it to go on (then it stays there)...but this is a pain in the *** everytime I go out to my truck. I haven't determined exactly which connection is the one I'm having a problem with (the bulb to lens, or ground wire), but I have a feeling its the bulb one, since the way I got the ground wire to hook up seems pretty secure.
One of these days I'll go back in and sotter (sp?) the ground wire connection tight to eliminate that possibility, but right now I'm too busy writing these damn long posts! haha (Nelson voice- The Simpsons). later...
