Talking .003 seconds and then some...

Still no computer, and the camera is in the same boat. Sorry fellows, I know I am letting you down, time to get some more stuff to get us through the winter. I dont have video but I do have a track story this time, and a time slip that tells us everything, the white copy.

I went to the track last weekend. I ran a best of 13.76@99 with all my stock stuff on. I raced a stock '01 Lightning stock for stock, and got my worst 60' of the day. Those things are pretty strong, must be the gears. There is definatley a performance increase with the new trucks.

Back to the story...

Over the course of 10 minutes I made 4 passes, and one was against a modded 98 Z28. She saw me make a 13.218@104.18 (2.07 60') pass and had to have some. I saw her click off a 13.19, and a slowest of a 13.4x so it was gonna be a good race. This one was sure was gonna be a crowd pleaser. Lights drop down, she cuts a .596 light to my .686 light and we are off. Down low is where my power is at, but I could not pull her, at 60 feet, she went 2.02 to my 2.07 and I wasn't gaining yet, at the 594' she clicked an 8.008 to my 8.010. The eighth mile came up and all my track friends thought it was curtains, considering the top end of those LS1 cars compared to our aerodynamics. She went 8.554 past the 1.8th @ 84.12 to my 8.554 @ 84.47. It was anybody's race. When we went through the traps, it was crystal clear, the Ford pulled through. I got the end of the track first by .003 seconds. I went 13.212@104.60 to her 13.303@102.xx. I got a few claps out of the crowd, which made my day. That was my best run, and the Lightning pulled through when I needed it the most.

I hot lapped it, to see if the Z28 wanted to race again, but it didnt happen. Turned a 13.26 on the last run. I know I had a 13.19 in it, but the track officials were being stingy with their track.

83 degrees, 27% humidity. How do I know? There was a Dyno at the track, power numbers will come when the dividend hits the bank account. Man I love being an Alaskan sometimmes. Dodge dakota truck dynoed at 180hp to the wheels, and I do beleive it was the 5.9L non-RT version. They hinted saying they needed something more flashy, with more power, and LOUD. Something that will please the truck guys. Maybe next time.

HANKFAN,

That blue Corvette, as far as I know, was stock. And he made it quite clear he didnt want to race me again. Something about ragging out the car. Hey man, it dont come with 345hp to get shown up by a dude in his truck in a parking lot. That Z06 knows I want to race him, and he drives the car to its potential, so I know we are gonna race. Especially since my friend borrowed my truck, and ripped his buddy in his Audi S4 a new one. The guy in the S4 mentioned the Z06, and they exchanged numbers. It will happen, and if my camera isnt fixed by race night, I'll go to the nearest Radio Shack and steal one . I had eyes at the track, and the bird told me a red Z06 was running 13.1-13.6s all day. The cars dont come with driving lessons, so someone might get embarrassed. Nothing happened to me, just no CPU. Something almost happened, but the FUZZ pulled over the other guy. I swear man, the FUZZ in this town really pick on the imports. Thats twice they choose them over me. But I guess thats a good thing.

Give me a couple of weeks, my site will be updated.

Ohyeah, that golden Chevelle that wupped my *** last winter, well, its time for them to put that 6-71 blower on that rat motor, cuz it didnt beat me, or the other Lightning.

LATER!
