Question Lightning Price

My brother is looking to buy a lightning. Saw this on ebay and its near us. What do you think? How's the price? Thanks for any feedback. Just looking to see how much we should expect these to go for.

have your brother check out Lightning Rodder, NLOC, and Lightning Garage, plenty of nice trucks for fair price on there

I take it by your rolling fella, that's a high price? What would be reasonable for that one?

what does NADA or KBB show for that truck in your area?

and why would you pay that for that filthy (most likely mistreated) truck, when you can get one you know the history of for much much less

try here for starters http://www.lightningrodder.com/forum...splay.php?f=21

21k is wway overpriced. all its got over a regular cab styleside (I think) is a supercharger and some performance goodies, wheels and spiffy seats. oh an explorer steering wheel.

Yeah he's been looking at that site. Just not much available in Texas. We tried a few outside the state and the transaction was just too difficult. KBB actually had a value of a little over $19,000 for that truck on that auction. It is a 2004 with only 34,000 miles.

That list of "only's" is pretty significant. I had never ridden in a lightning and its amazing. Needless to say he bought it. Paid a little over $19,000 before TTL. Drives amazing. Has a few imperfections that we were able to talk to the seller down on, but bottom line, my brother is happy and moving on.

Sonic blue is a sharp color. Good looking truck. $21k for an '04 with low miles in very good shape is on the high side. I would have liked to have been around $18k max.

You're going to pay more for a southern low mileage truck than for a rust infested northern one. You can probably get a better deal if you talk to the dealer directly. I know I wouldn't sell mine for much less than that. That's if I could be talked out of it at all. There's nothing like it on the market.

LOL.... Northern doesn't mean rust infested! My Lightning is pretty much rust free and was a daily driver for many years through the rain days and is definitely cleaner than the underneath of the truck posted in that OP's ebay ad! Focus attention to the frame right above the rear tire in this pic...

Notice that the frame is no longer black? My truck is a "northern truck" and has never once been garage kept (except at a dealer for maintenance) and look at my frame...

Notice how awfully dirty the southern hick truck frame is like it's been to the county fair's mud bog and notice how the northern rust infested one still looks like the truck is only months old but is actually nine years old, lol!

(Just ribbing about the southern hick thing, take no offense, I'm smart enough to know a vehicle can be well kept regardless of where it's from, hehe )
