I know alot of you have taken it off, but I can't locate the old threads.
Are the bolts 18mm ?

Thank You

I was thinking about removing mine. I was up under the L looking at it this weekend. I was looking for and could not find a way to unplug the wiring for the trailer. How do you deal with the wiring?

I just yanked mine last night and the bolts are indeed 18mm. I also took the wiring off of the hitch (it has one of those one-way white plastic inserts that holds it to the piece on the hitch) and found a hole underneath that I pushed the insert in to. I also then zip-tied the big round plug and smaller rubber plug to the the wiring that runs underneath the length of the tailgate (when viewed from under the truck).

Hope that helps,

Dan

Struck, thankyou. I was thinking that the big round plug could be unplugged or removed. I thought it was an add on at the factory and not hard wired in. So I have to wrap that up under the truck, huh?

Unfortunately, that's the gig. The quick and dirty route is to zip tie the wire near the plug to one of the holes that previously held the trailer hitch. I used electrical tape to tape the small plug (four-prong I believe) and teh big round plug together so as to avoid any rattles.
