Lightning&Thunder

Got a little Thunder to go with the Lightning - its a 3/4 size, 570cc, 265 lb, 25hp-37tq, fully automatic, custom motorcycle that fits perfectly in the bed.

Its louder than a Harley and can get up to speed just as quick if not faster than one.

www.ridleymotorcycles.com

On the way up to Oklahoma to get it, we had to take a HUGE detour because they closed the highway b/c of a "hazardous truck spill".....so we follow everyone down a long narrow country road and turn off onto another dirt road that said "Poolville" and asked a truck driver how far Poolville was from the road. He said "about 3 mile down the road" - at this point we were on Empty and the "low fuel" light had come on some time before.

So about 10 miles down the road we are not at a town with a gas station, but out in the middle of nowhere on a dirt/rock road. The gas needle is below empty, and we know we are going to run out.........then we finally hit the road that everyone else is on going back to the highway...but its still a long while till the next station and we were just waiting for it to die........

Then to our total releif we see a station -

and filled up our 24 gallon tank with 24.07 gallons

Thumbs up

JBLsilver01,
Those Ridley cycles are pretty cool, I saw a few in person when I went to Biketober Fest in Daytona last year. They had about five of them on display. From what I was told he originaly built them for his kids and then found out that there was a market for them.
I doubt that a Ridley will stay with my Harley, I am pushing out just over 107H.P. in mine. Not bad from a Twin Cam 88. O.k. It's a 95 cubic inch now with the Zippers full Muscle kit. It moves real good for a bager. My wife thought that the Ridley's we saw down in Daytona were real cute and were for kids, I did tell her that they were real motorcycles and that they shouldn't be ridden by kids. Plus, they are a little pricey to be a kids toy.
Anyway, nice buy and it looks sweet in the back of your Lightning. Have fun with it.

Bill
