Question Calling Factory Tech

Hello Factory Tech,

Just a question about Transgo Shift kit. I bought a kit which is marked AODE-HD2. Dec 2000 Sol Valve Upgrade. My question is:

Will this kit work in the 99 L, and is it a good kit to install. There is some drilling required, and thought I would ask the expert before I took it to a tranny shop, and had the kit installed.

Thanks for the help

...Dwight...

It looks from the part number that the kit you bought is for a 4R70W. What tranny do you have? Any tranny shop can install a shift kit, they're pretty straightforward installs.

Hello again,

I have a 99 Lightning...and was told that this kit was for the stock tranny...sounds like I was led astray

Thanks for your help,

Dwight, it sounds like that kit is for the AODE/4R70W trans, which is not what you have. You would need a kit for the E4OD/4R100 trans. If you can return that kit, I do sell the Factory Tech valve bodies. It is a complete new valve body already built for performance, and it's a bolt in unit, no need to take apart your stock valve body.
