Saw an 01 at the track doing 14.50s-14.80s
I am not sure but my truck seems to be getting more powerfull by the day.
When i first brought her home, I thought she was kind of a slug also, but then I put in the psp 4 way chip and filter and I could see a bit of a difference.
Then I put in the bassani exhaust and I could feel a difference then also.
However all these mods were done in the 1000 - 1100 mile range. Now I have almost 1600 miles on her and she is much more power full than even several hundred miles ago.
Even with those mods just after they were done I could not get her to spin the tires. I know spinning the tires doesn't make you quicker, but I like to show the kiddies running around here what kind of smoke show it can do.
Now today I took her out and had the ac on full blast and decided to launch from a stop light hard because there were some kid in a GT checking out the truck hard. So I nail it and of course forget to shut off the ac and it spins the tires for probably 20-30 feet. This is the first time it has laid down a patch like that from a stand still and no braking, just from brake to gas. Oh, it also lays a nice patch of rubber when it hits second.
The only two things I can think of that are making more power are:
1. the engine is getting loosened up more and therefore making more power.
2. The chip's program is coming in more or something like that. ( I do not know that much about the computers in these things and have heard some say that it takes some miles to get full benefit from the chip)
All I know is that this truck is really coming on more.
Oh and by the way the temp was 88 degrees and the humidty was 17% and I live at 6300 feet altitude.

i have a diablo chip, jl power cooler, top and bottom pulleys 80mm pro-m(thats for sale) and 10.5 m/t et streets and a few other thing that i can't tell you at this time (hush hush wink wink)
pgio, as your tires get the "new" worn off, they are easier to spin. All the tires I have experience with are like this. My 2000 L will spin easier with just the gas from a stop now at 4000 miles, although it has always been able to light them up from a stop without any power braking.
My S-10 4.3, 5-speed does it real bad too. As the tires get worn a little, it becomes easier and easier to spin and gets down right ugly when it rains. I just put a new set of Touring T/A's on the S-10 and I am back to having traction for a little while.
About 2 months ago before I got new tires, I scared myself grabbing 2nd in the S-10 going around a corner. I hit some oil and got totally sideways. I just put the opposite lock to it and kept on getting it. Good thing my wife wasn't there.

Couldn't help but notice on your tagline your Lightning ran a 13.1 at 105 mph while your Z28 ran 13.7 at 107 mph. Just out of curiosity why was your Z28 so much slower yet reached 2 more mpg? Does your Z28 just not hook up well or what? (I thought stock Z28's were closer to the 13.3 to 13.4 range.)

F1s....8,000 miles on them..no stick!
I made 7 passes Fri. pm. Had to leave the ET Streets at home due to scattered showers in our area. Ran several 14s; 14.442, 14.812, 14.251, and a 14..009 to a Indie 400 Camaro's 14.010.
Too much wheel spin--couldn't hook! Best of the nite was a 13.488@103.68--had a 60'@2.118 on another pass. Track closed early due to rain and LIGHTNING!
