October Issue of Sport Truck
I see in the new issue of Sport Truck magazine that a few of you guys were in it. Mike Heusser, Lynn Guthrie, Jay Lincoln, Marcus McConnell. Not a bad showing but you all lost to a Viper. Mike you were pretty close to taking the Viper out so nice job. Were all these times uncorrected or something, I run consistant 12.7's to 12.8's with no nitrous and on my stock F1's. I would think that a 150 shot of nitrous would net better than 12.9's?
Anyway it is a good issue with quite a bit of Lightning coverage in it. A must get issue. So who are you all on the board, I know Jay Lincoln uses his name for his screen name but how about the rest of you?

I've known Lynn for a while now. He's got to be one of the nicest Lightning owners around. Major perforemance-junkie, IMO.
He's running a 200HP shot of nitrous (among other things).
I think he's got a feature in the magazine later on covering the nitrous install. Watch for it!

Way to go, Lynn!

TampaSVT,
It does have a feature on Lynn's nitrous install, It says in the magazine that he is running a 125 shot. He ran a 13.23 in the article. Thanks for posting his link, It looks like he has had a great life so far, he is a very accomplished man, He has done a lot. It must be a great life.

Hdmlnium,
Those times were corrected for altitude only. The track is at 2700' above sea level. I know that the NHRA correction factor is approximately .3 seconds.
Then the Super gas cars run, their corrected index is 10.20, instead of 9.90.
The temp that day was in the mid 90's. The density altitude was whopping 5860' above sea level. It is difficult to make anything run at that altitude.
My truck was the only one to run 13's without nitrous. As you can see, I am only chipped and filtered. All others ranged from 14.20-14.60 w/o nitrous.
That run that Mike made was awesome. Lynn's was pretty nice too. The two nitrous trucks had a very difficult time launching. I think they pretty much launched without notrous, then hit the button about 60' out.
All the trucks that were featured were full weight and street trim, including tires.
It was a lot of fun!

Jay Lincoln,
It's good to hear that you guys had a great time, and it is real cool that you all got into the magazine. It was some really good reading and I think everyone should get a copy. Thanks for the extra info in explaining the correction for the ET's to me.
Great Job!!

Glad to have met everyone during the photo shoot, and nice seeing old faces. It was fun had by all, although it was too bad they didn't let us run heads up with the comp. I was one of the stockers that was supposed to run a Kenne Bell chip that wasn't ready in time. Kinda upsets me that they said it was my frist time racing (maybe because I was the youngest of L owners?), althought that's far from the truth.
Guess that means I now have an advantage for all the challengers that think I suck at driving. Anyway, hope for more photo shoots to come. SOMEONE SPONSOR ME TO RACE FOR THEM !!!:HINT::HINT:
Jay, I'll see you the 18th! I'm working on some drag radials right now. Hopefully they come through in time.

Marcus,
That is two of you that I now can put a face with their screen name. It's good to hear that you did get the hang of drag racing and became pretty consistent. lol Magazines print what they think will make a good story, so by them saying it was your first time at the track it just spices it up a little.
Great job Marcus on getting into the magazine. I am a little weird so if it were me I would buy three copies, one to have in my truck to show people, one at home on the coffee table for people to read and one in plastic sealed for years down the road when your child comes home from school and tells you that the kids at school didn't beleive him. Break out the copy that you have saved and let your child prove to all the kids that he was telling the truth. The last part is from personal experience, when I was a kid my father had a mint 68 formula S cuda, he was in a couple of magazines with it and lets just say that it made it easier that he still had the issues.
O.k. who still has not signed in? Mike and Lynn who are you on the boards?
