How To Launch On Et Streets
How hard can you come out of the hole on the ET streets? Can you mat the gas whild on the brake just b4 the green and hook up? Is it best to remove the sway bar? What is the best pressure you guys have found works? Thanks
From our own testing we have found that around 18Lbs of air when cold works best. When we do the burn out we do a nice burn out to clean and heat em up. Then when we go to stage, pending on the track conditions, we will torque it up to about 1100rpm and launch on the Nitrous.
This question has been answered a lot; however, I was unable to pull up anything with the search engine. It must still be looking for Spock.
Ari pressure depends on rim width. 18 psi for 7-8" rims, 20-22 psi for 10" rims. Adjust your left mirror down so you can see the rear wheel well. With tranny in low and foot on brake run the rpm up to 4500 or so when you start to see smoke come from the tire start a slow five count (one thousand one, one thousand two, etc). When you hit five ease off on brake, watch rpm because it will increase, let off gas, feel grab, brake, stop, shift to newtral and rev a couple of times and then shift to drive (this practice will keep you from accidently launching in low and hitting rev limiter and looking dumb). Look down track to see if your dial in is correctly posted on board. If it is creap up to lites. If not roll your window down and get attention of starter. It is your responsibility to ensure your dial-in is correct. Check air after each run. Quick back to back passes will increase air pressure approximately 2 psi. An air tank is the easilest way to keep correct pressure in tires.
Launch rpm will vary depending on track and which rear end you have, but mostly on the track. Start at around 1500. If you spin go down to 1300 until you find an rpm that you DO NOT spin. Any spin is slowing you down. I generally launch at my track at between 1000 and 1200.

4D THNDR's method works best for me with the 10 in rims at 18 lbs. I think this will require testing on any given track with the different gear ratios and mods everyone is running. So using these posts as a baseline for your L,at your track and with your mods is the only way to find out what air pressure and rpm to launch at. Happy testing
