Couple of questions from a newbie

1. What is the benefit of using the F250 Tranny Pan?
2. Where do i find my build number?
3. Will i fry the transmission of i tow my race car with the L?
4. What can i change to make my 2000 the same as 2001 (besides the cosmetic stuff) Can i upgrade to the new intake and intercooler? I know the 2001 comes with 3.73's but what else is changed from the 2000?

Thanks
Brandon

1. about 1.5-2 qts. more fliud--helps reduce op. temp. and has a drain plug.

2. on the left valve cover--white sticker.

3. don't know.

4. expensive(?) to upgrade i/c--different bolt pattern--many parts needed. most guys change the 80mm maf to a 90mm maf--with a chip tuned for this. bilstein shocks. wheels/tires.

others may remember some additional items but they may not post(as I started not to) because you 'should' be able to do a search. having said that; I remembered the site has had some problems recently so searches may not turn up the info.

good luck, Dan

I don't think you'll fry your transmission towing your car. The tow rating is 5000 lbs. There are a number of folks here who tow boats, cars, campers, etc. at weights above 5000lb.

#3 No. You will not fry your trans by towing your race car.Unless you decide to race some ricers while towing your race car.LOLI towed my Pantera 400 miles w/my '01 and it did awesome.I also met a guy at Pocono who had towed his car all the way from Texas w/his '01 and he was more than happy .GL.

If you have this pan, you can drain some fluid prior to running track events (road course). That way, you won't puke it out on the course after it heats up.
