Suspension Experiment. WOW!
Hey Tampa, nice looking truck.
I have an off topic question.
I know from your sig that you use the are lid. What type of wing is that? Is it the one ARE offers or one you added?
Thanks
Paul

Rich, I like it. My buddy cut his coils on his Mustang and it really surprised me how well it performed.
I think this route might be the way I need to go. I'd probably only go 1 ring though. My question is, did you have the shop bevel the bottom ring after it was cut? If not, was the top or bottom cut?
I think I read somewhere that if you cut the stock coils on any appication that it makes it ride more stiff than stock because the coil is shorter and has less "give." The Mustang was a bit stiffer afterwards, but handled beautifully.
If I cut 1 ring out of the front, what do I need to do the stock back end and still have a raked look? Sorry so many questions, but you caused it! LOL
Thanks,
Jim

Thanks, guys.
You'll want the springs to sit flat in the cup, so I had them top cut. After seeing how much 2 rings really was after they were cut, I opted not to have the tops flattened. I don't think it will make much difference in the cup. I did bevel the edges(why, I don't know).
I would imagine cutting one ring would produce 1.25" drop since the second ring was spaced more than the first. THIS IS JUST A GUESS.... (1.25"+1.75" = 3.0")
If you have the cut end flattened like the bottom, add some more drop. Maybe as much as .5"
Cutting 2 full springs resulted in a "real" 3" drop, not the 2" that the BellTech springs produce.
gforce:
The shackles will get you a "real" 2" rear drop. That combined with 1.25 - 1.75"(1 ring) cut on the springs should keep the rake.
pgio:
The wing is from a Fiero, from what I'm told....
