LED mirrors

I just ordered the led turn signal mirrors for my 01 L. I got them from ford parts online and told me the 99 f-150 mirrors utilize the LED's and should be a perfect fit.

Has anyone tried em out? WIll the harness match up?

I guess i was a bit impulsive about ordering em but the salesman reassured me they would fit fine.

If they are the mirrors with the turn signals on the outside of the mirror they will plug right in. I installed them on my 2000 HD. If they are the Muth type mirrors I believe they will also work without any wire mods...

If you mean MUTH Signal Mirrors, yeah, they'll be a direct fit on a 2001.

NOSTROMO, i have the muth signal mirrors on both my L and a 99 off road and if the oem are similar, after a year or so they look scracthed up and are cloudy looking.Your best bet would be the turn signal mirrors from the 01 imho.

Contact Muth directly if they have turned cloudy.

They replaced mine and other's with no questions asked, and they did it happily....

I was very impressed with their service.

you got to ditch the mickey mouse ears completely and get some SS street scene mirrors for you L. so much better then OEM ones. they make them with the turn signals in there to now.

Did you run into any problems with the Street Scene mirrors? Are they a direct bolt on, or do they need modifications? How is the overall quality?

Thanks...

Direct bolt on and they plug right in. the qaulity is great and they fit perfect. everything you need to do the job comes with the kit, except for painting them. which any shop can do!

I think they look awesome!

I had some close up pics, but I can't find them now!

I have the street scene power mirrors on my dodge for about three years now and never had a problem. The reason i bought the OEM led mirrors was for the same reason some of you returned them back to muth. I didnt want to have a problem down the road. However, i bought the AIC clear euro turn signal lenses for my 01L. After one wash they fogged up! it looks like a rain forest now, after a few more washes i plan to ad a few gold fish I bought them from autobahn wholesale and replaced them right away. I added a bit of clear silicone to the outside of them and didnt have a problem since with the second set.

I went to my local Ford/SVT dealer to complain about how my mirrors would vibrate at 45 m.p.h. and above (images were dancin'). When the technician agreed that they need to be replaced, I asked if they could be replaced with factory signal mirrors and that I would pay the difference between the warranty price for standard and signal mirrors. Since the doors are already pre-wired for the signal mirrors, the tech and service manager said no problem. So, for $187.00, I have new signal mirrors and I LOVE THEM . I can hardly wait until it gets dark and I have to make a turn!!!

What year was your truck 00 becasue i think read some where that the 99 might not have had the wiring there already. I have a 00 and i would be intersted in the 01 signal mirrors. I mean i already have the 01 tails, third brake light, headlights, corners, fogs and grills. and would like the mirrors is the install a bitch if anyone has done this ?? And im guessing they come painted already because when i got my 2001 upper grill it came with the whole surround already painted. Any info would be greatly apperciated.
Thanks
Vin
