how to "chrome" your own emblems.. :)

hmmm

it seems that my first post was lost...

our emblems are chrome plated under that black paint.

you can remove the black paint using 100% acetone (finger nail polish). DO NOT dunk the emblems into any kind of solvent, most likely they will soften and melt because the backing is plastic. use several Q-tips and a soft cotton rag to remove the paint.

tada!

i may try this on one of my emblems this weekend..
anyone ever done this?

does this work on regular f150's emblem.

I got a couple work trucks that are really chitty and I wouldn't care if they got messed up.

yeah.. it will work on '98 and up emblems..
