I hate people who say they will only run for money.
This guy comes to the shop today,he is looking my truck over.Goes up to my buddy asked who L ,and wanted to know if I would run him.My buddy says "hell yea he'll run you".My truck is 100% stock. His truck is a 2000 chevy 5.3 w/ a Powerdyne full exhaust ,chip ,and cold air intake.
Now this is where it gets stupid.I ask him how many pounds of boost he's running he say's it depends on the RPM.I'm like N/S ,but what is the max.He says 13.I ask him what he is running in the 1/4 .he says 102. I say whats your ET.HE says "I forgot i dont keep up with that" He says his truck has 450 HP and runs the 1/8 in 8.1.
He thoght I was some some kind of idiot when he first came up ,but learned different after I called him on everything.
I had had about enough by now so I told him there was only one thing to do and that was line them up.That's when he said he would only run me for $1000.I,m like dont you want to see how we compare just for the hell of it. He say's he really just built it for him,not to race.He's the one who stopped me from working to see if I would run him.He must have thought I would back down.
Sorry so long it just makes me mad!And he probably have beat me if he was realy running 13 pounds of boost.

I hate that to. I mean a short race down an empty road is just fun. I personally don't care if I win or loose, as long as I have fun.

 

Translation....I'm a puss chicken and don't want to race.
With that said, there are some situations where it is not worth the risk, time, etc.

The biggest puss chicken was the vipor that wouldn't run HANKFAN??? (I think).

I'd rather get beat trying than talking.

 

NeedFourSpeed- Yeah, I was the one who the ACR Viper wouldn't run. I totally understand if someone does not want to race their ride but don't talk smack about how your ride is faster than mine if you don't want to race. Please don't tell me show me!!!

 

The bad thing is those type of people trash talk about your vehicle and are to chicken *&%! to run ya.

 

Well I tell the ones who I know have no chance against me(riced out hondas,etc) that I will race for $$ if they start mouthing off that they can beat me. I usually say something along the lines of "put your $ where your mouth is" I will have had my L for 3 months 2morrow and have only had 2 people try to race me...a Mustang GT and a S10(hahahha). Killed the S10 from a dead stop and killed the Stang from a roll at about 65 on the highway. And if youve read my other thread from 2nite..those arent the only things ive killed in my L.

 

I don't khow why this guy even stopped by and wasted my time.I didn't even khow him.Maybe he thought his ****olet truck would impress me.I keep pushing him to run ,then he gave that "my truck ain't quit dail in " junk.He said he had slight detonation at shift point,and didn't wont to hurt anything.
Win or lose i just wanted to race!
