Question Headers fo 2001 Lightning??

I have ?? for guys with Headers??What kind do you guys use? And how much HP gain did you see...=)>

I think the consensus around the board is that headers give you little to no hp increase. Many people, including myself, use Bassani headers & exhaust - mostly for their sound.

Long tubes for some hp increase, everything else is for looks and sound.

JBA headers look nice, sound nice, can be a pain in the a$$ to install and don't do much for performance. At ~$600 there are probably better things to spend the money on that have a better bang for the buck.

I have a set of long-tube headers with high flow cats; H-pipe and Dynomax race magnums. Max HP increase at the rear wheel was around 12. Peak hp went up 7 rwhp. A cooler motor and some tuning for the exhaust may improve those #'s.

Sound great and looks coool. Headers were $875 and other parts and install and installation was $600.

If your going to do something IMO it's the only way to go unless you just want to hang a muffler for sound.
