Question newbie question, additional spring on throttle body linkage?

I noticed that there is an additional spring on the throttle body linkage (accelerator cable) externally. I removed it out of curiosity and noticed the pedal is a lot lighter. Has anyone removed it and had any problems? Is the coiled spring enough?

Thanks

Thumbs down

There's a backup hydraulic system on your brakes too... if you rip that out it remove 50-60lbs... and make the truck even faster!!

Do you really want to find out if one spring is enough? Would be ugly to suddenly discover you really do need two.
