Question intercooler fix

anyone have up to date info on the intercooler fix. i have gone to the dealer 2 times now and they told me that its not leaking. they said they did pressure checks and everything is fine but my fluid keeps disappearing. must be magic. and the thing that gets me is that the dealership i went to had no idea that these trucks had this problem. i had to tell them. why wont ford just recall them, fix them and get this over with?

Take it to the dealer AGAIN....but with a twist.

add enough fluid to about 3/4 full prior to arrival.

with the service writer watching, take a "sharpie" and mark the fuild level (date it too) and askthem to humor you by adding dye to the intercooler reservior.

you'll need to drive around for a week or so. be sure to blast a couple WOT in the process.

take it back and have them pull a plug or O2 sensor and bring it to their blacklight.

TA-DA have the part number for "the fix" to give them too.

----OR-----

Go to another dealer.....

Exclamation

Or, have them call the Tech Hot-line and talk to Jake Doss. He will set them straight.

Or just open the valve on the pass side of the IC radiator before you go to dealer and show them it is empty. Then ask where the fliud is going in a CLOSED system

I took my L in for the I/C leak today. I live in the hills and went to a local dealer (not an SVT dealer) after speaking w/SVT.....WRONG
They are clueless as to what an L is OR an I/C. They claimed they would have to test drive it......HUH? Funny how YOU couldn't test drive it w/$30K in your hand.
They NEVER even bothered to call SVT to find out what was required. I not only told them everything they needed to do mainly CALL SVT, I brought them a very nice description.
http://www.digitalinsignia.com/mytruck.html - I know its old, BUT it got pictures and Cooter likes picture books.
I am now looking for a service dept. (No. CA) that knows what is going on with the L's.
