Thumbs up Jdm Chip & New Mods Installed

Installed JDM flip chip, upper pulley, and shift kit yesterday. What a bitch to change the upper pulley. It was not the 1# pulley either so we had to grind a lot of material off the snout of the blower. No big deal there, but pressing off the pulley and on the new one was very scary. I had to leave the shop and walk ouside while they pressed on the new one. Chip was obviously a piece of cake as was the shift kit. What a difference. The boost gauge goes into the black on the dash. Does anybosy know how much boost that would be reading? Does anybody have an idea how much boost is from the small upper pulley? Shifts are incredible. Still have stock air filter box on. Waiting for my secret weapon air filter kit to arrive. I raced an Explorer with a 347 and a vortech supercharger boosting 8psi. Was an interesting race. We raced rolling at about 20mph. He spun as i hooked. I jumped about 1 1/2 trucks and we stayed the same till about 90mph. I was pleased to even stay in front of him. Torque converter coming soon as is N2O. At least a 100 shot from that. Power cooler and many other tricks to come. I want to be the first 10 second truck.

Hey man, sounds great! I know you just got that pulley pressed on, but give Mark at lightningforce a buzz at UNI4MONEY@aol.com about his upper pulley it. It's the only way to fly happy ashphault rolling

Sorry guys, but we have a 320 and not a 347, so what in the world is that Ford 347?

I would of thought that an engine with only 30 more ci and 3 less psi would have had his behind handed to him plus all the extra weight, what am I missing here?

actually the 5.4L is a 330ci...

maybe the 347ci was a rebuilt engine? bored out or something?
maybe they added the displacement of their supercharger to the number?

?

Think it is actually a 329 cid to be exact. I just put in a JDM chip last week. Love the shift points and smoothness, no bone jarring shifts that feel like your rear end is about to drop. Good luck with the 10 second project. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes awhile, with our 5.4, to get that kind of results though. Not enough major engine mods available now.

RACJAS330------You got BIGGER gonads or more money than me to be grinding the front snout on your blower. Hope it all works out and good luck in future projects

347

It was a 5.0 explorer originally, but this guy bought an A4 block and had it stroked to 347 cubic inch with a vortech. It would have been a nice sleeper, but it had a lumpy cam and loud *** exhaust. Still was a fun race.
