I don't know at what point this thread entered the Matrix but that's sure what it seems like. When you decide to take that pill and wake up let me know. I have provided pics and explained this carefully. I'm simply AMAZED. :o

Sal, I've always been a fan of Autolites, as well. I have them in most of my vehicles. If you don't like the throttle response, its probalby due to the shrouded spark. The Autolites generally have a wide groung electrode, that "hides" the spark.

Try the old racers trick. Either get a set of J-gapped Champions or just cut back the center electrode on the Autolites. It will improve the throttle response, just like the Splitfires.

Autolite plugs are durable, however. We used them in turbocharged, land speed record cars in the past. We would burn the ground electrodes off other plugs, and these would not.

Cool

Jay,

You're right the 103's have the widest ground electrode by far. What you say makes sense.

Splitfire is now requiring that you either sign a disclaimer or wear one of these HANS thingysthrottle response is pretty good, so i will be wearing mine. i heard if you use splitfires with an after market throttle body, not even Lloyds of London will insure you.

LTNBOLT, you might try grinding or filing the ground electrode back to about half way across the center electrode. This will unshoud the spark. It might help to index the spark plugs toward the intake valve slightly, but it's already tough enough changing plugs, so indexing would probably cause some serious insanity.

Just be sure to clean the plugs with brakeclean and compressed air after filing or grinding.

MRBBQMAN,

That HANS kinda looks like the tip of a Splitfire. I bet that's worth 2or 3 MPH on the big end. I GOTTA GIT ME ONE A THOSE!!! LMAO.

Jay,

That's worth a try. I've heard of it being done on racing apps. You know me just a glutton for punishment.
