Towing and Hauling
Towing and Hauling
I'm leaving for the beach tomorrow. About a 350 mile trip. One option is to take the L and put a 600cc Yamaha in the bed and pull a trailer with a full size HD. Trailer and bike would be about 3000lbs. Shouldn't be a problem. Right?
However, while I'm there, with time on my hands, I might go on and install the Belltech drop shackles. My concern is would the return trip be a problem?
Thanks

L's hate tounge weight. That sounds like too much weight in the bed. It may be pushing it on the trip there. Coming home might be a REAL PROBLEM. The problem is if you find out that it is too much load, how do you get all this stuff home. Do the experiment at home is my vote.

Assuming a 3000 lb trailer has 10% tounge weight and the bike weights about 500 lbs, You get about 800lbs in the back. A lowered L only has about 2" of suspension travel unloaded depending how much you cut the rubber bump stops.
Hope this helps

The Yamaha in the bed is only about 450 lbs. The bike on the trailer is about 800 and the trailer probably weighs a thousand.
I might take two vehicles. Let the Suburbasaurus pull the big bike and the L haul the ricer.
