Mass Air Flow Translators...does anyone use them?

I'm really new to the whole Lightning scene...so I'm trying to learn as much as I can....

Does anyone on here use a MAF-T and Autotap softward to tune their Air/fuel setups? I'm not certain that they are available (MAFT's) for Lightnings, but thought I would ask, just in case.

I just have a serious problem w/ using a "generic" chip to tune my vehicle. It's just too much of a shot in the dark.

new generation calibrator
remote optimizer

the maf translator your thinking of will not work on your trucks

the only person I've heard of using one is seanhylandmotorsports. Their pro-m meter used to come with an optimizer on it.

Yeah...that's similar to what I was talking about. Except I'm a little unclear as to the difference between the New Gen Calibrator vs. the "Optimizer". I'm assuming the "Calibrator" is for Stock MAF's and the Optimizer does the same thing for aftermarket MAF's.

So has anyone used one of these w/ Autotap to determine what the optimum fuel trims are for the L?? How do those settings compare w/ the results of one of the aftermarket Chips? I'm curious to see how accurate a Generic chip can be tuned just based on mathematical guesses from the Tuners. (ie. A filter kit and 90mm MAF = "X tuning", whereas a Filter kit, 90mm maf and breather = Y Tuning). Does that make sense??
