Ticking from right cylinder bank?

I have a ticking noise comming from the right cylinder bank and was wondering if any of you have had the same problem? Also I have a set of NGK spark plugs that I want to install, should I wait to installed them after ford looks at the engine or should I install them know to see if they fix the problem. By the way my L in an '01 with 2000 miles. I noticed the ticking with about 1600 miles on the OD.

Also my tips are REAL black. I know this is due to running rich but at the local track the other day my tips were clean and by the end of the day (8 runs) they were black, but anohter L that was there still had fairly cleen tips. This leads me to believe I might have a bad plug.

Ticking is just a lifter or valve. Have the dealer just make a note of it in their records if it doesn't sound like it's coming apart and keep driving it. I'm 99% sure it will go away on it's own as you get more miles on it and everything seats. You need more mileage.

BTW, mine did it too and so did my friend's '00 - both on the right hand side. They both quit at around 5-6 k miles. Once in a blue moon, mine will do it ever so slightly and it goes away if I run it to redline a couple of times in a row.

Well it sound some what like that but not nearly as loud. To hear mine you have to pop the hood and get you head into the engine compartment.

Then that's probably only the injectors doing their thing if you have to pop the hood to hear it. And if you have to pop the hood to hear it, I certainly wouldn't worry about it.

Hey g-force I kinda got a ticking sometimes too, but it does go away after some time. It seems to happen after the truck has been running for a long time, like an half an hour. would that be the lifter.

what should I do to help this out.

I had a ticking sound coming from the right cylinder bank. Turned out to be a spun bearing. They are in the process of installing a new motor now.
