2002 Lightnings?

2002 Lightnings?
I want a lightning bad! Financially, I need to wait until the first part of next year.
Will there be SVT Lightnings offered in 2002? If so will they be the same as 2001 or can we expect some additional improvement/tweaks?
I am leaning towards a silver one ... its too darn hot in Texas in black.

Who knows if there will be a 2002, This has been debated many times lately and the only people who really know aren't talking yet. Do a search and you can read all the hype.
As for changes that too is just talk right now. They won't announce any changes until they announce that they will be building a 2002.
My opinion is that with things like they are now and many 2001's still sitting on lots, they should not build the 2002 and rather wait for the new body style in 03 and then make a real statement with a new body and more power and such.
I personally like my 2001 and will be keeping it for a long long time.

02 Lightning
You will be able to order the 02 Lightning in October-November as my friend will be ordering it. Two dealers that will honor the xplan both will be taking orders for it int Oct-Nov but they wouldnt get them til spring April-May. Hope this helps...heres one of the emails from them...

Keep in mind, just because you have a deposit doesn't garauntee that they will build one.
When we went to look at them, we asked the salesperson if we could order one for 2002, he said $1000.00 deposit, and we would be able to order in Sept.
Well I did some research and I'm getting mixed signals on whether they are going to even make a 2002.
The sales guy we wound up getting our 2000 from said until "Job1" from Ford, there is no for sure on that...You may get to order a 2002, or you may get a $1000.00 refund in Sept.
I didn't want to miss out on owning one of these trucks and have to purchase a used one with a ton of miles.
So we happened upon a black 2000 with 2015 miles on it and snatched it up for a decent money savings! So far, I am very glad we did this! I would have looked at a 2001, but they do not have any more here in silver...so...that is my story and I'm sticking to it!!!
