Smile Got some ??????'s for you guys

Hi guys I got some ?'s and I know you can help me.Please.I am trying to sell my stang to get a new car and am trying to decide what to get a '01 cobra or a '01 L. I want to know how many miles do you guys get off a tank and how many mpg. do you get.
I really love the L but the gas thing and no backseat. Please tell me your inputs and do you regret not having a backseat?Sorry for the long post.

Thanks,
Rick

Talking

Rick,

#1 If you worry about gas mileage...buy a ricer

#2 Who needs a back seat when you have a whole bed??

#3 Want fast.....buy a Lightning

My 2 cents worth

Seriously 13mpg's, with my foot in it all the time.
Seen 18mpg's with a JDM flip-chip.

I have no problem with no backseat. I just traded my '99 extended cab Lariat in and I noticed while cleaning it out, it seemed to be catch all. I also hated being the driver every time I went somewhere, because I could carry the most people. I get about 260 m/tank with a lead foot and ~280 average. It is a 25 gallon tank and I usually don't let it get much below a 1/4 of a tank before I fill up.

Hope this helps.

I don't have a flip-chip yet I have seen a couple of others that say they get ~30 more h/p and 40lb/tq. They say that the most h/p comes from a JL Diablo. There is one problem with them, they are a single program. With the flip-chip you can get two programs(eg. street or race and factory). This will allow for towing, if you are going to tow with it, I do.

I don't know all about the chips, because I have yet to talk to any programmers yet, but here are a few sites if you would like to look into them more.

www.powersurgeperformance.com (PSP chip)
www.johnnylightningperf.com (JL Diablo chip)

And you can call and talk to Jim or Julie from JDM (flip-chip) at
(732) 780-0770

Depending on the mileage. I paid $30000 with 6 miles on it. Some are getting them new for $28500 with the x-plan(no idea). I wouldn't pay more than $28000 for one.

They sticker for $32k+, you can get an X-plan($28.8k) on one if you join the EAA for $40 here:

http://www.eaa.org/communications/ea...d_partner.html

Only catch is you have to find a dealer that will do X-plan. Not all will and they aren't required by Ford to. It may take a little looking where you are as FL, TX, and CA seem to want sticker if not more for their "L"s. Good luck.

Just think of the Lightning as a large sized Corvette with a HUGE trunk. It will tow a Corvette if you have to also.
