About that front license plate holder

I know some states require a front tag. However, who uses that tag holder when it's not required by law? What is the tag that you have in there?

My state does not require a front tag and I told the dealer NOT to put it on. I plan on leaving the front with that clean look.

Yea, i'm in California where it is illegal to drive without a front plate. They're mainly cracking down on front license plates because they are using Cameras to catch Red Light Runners. I personally do not have a plate on my truck and never will have a plate on the front.

I live in Indiana where no front is required but bought the truck in Illinois and the dealer already put the front holder on. I took it off and it looks worse because of the holes the dealer drilled to install the damn thing It's on 'blank' right now.

NJ requires front plate.

I will not screw it into the bumper though. One day I'm gonna make a metal bracket that attaches from the inside and comes through the bottom grill and plate holder can attach to that.

I have been running without a front plate sicne i bought the truck. Have not even gotten a second look from the cops. I say run without it, if they stop you, have the holder with you and tell them you will put it on, he might just give you a warning, then put it on. Till then tho, don't mess up the lines of that beautiful front end.

Dealer already had the bracket mounted when I purchased it. Florida doesn't require a front plate, so I don't know why.

I use a Tampa Bay Bucs plate during the season, Ford Racing any other time.

I had my choice of one of two red Ls on the lot, or an incoming Silver due in about two weeks. I chose the Silver, and warned the salesdrone about putting on the front bracket. I had already seen a Cobra at the dealership with the bracket crooked and off-center. Anyway, the slack-jawed mouthbreather said no problem, he would make sure the bumper stayed slick.

I get a call two days latter. Good news and bad. The truck arrived, but the prep guys had already drilled the holes and installed the bracket. Pinheads.

I get there and sure enough, the bracket is on. Off-center and crooked. Give me time, I am shooting someone in the a**.

When I ordered my '96 Impala SS I told that idiot the same thing. No plate bracket, no dealer logo. Weeks go by, and then the call comes. It is here. Now, I had toured the Arlington plant twice, and I knew what the cars looked like coming off the line, not to mention what the prepainted front bumpers looked like on the racks. The salesidiot proudly says "See, no bracket!" Yeah, but someone had drilled the holes and then filled them with painted plugs.

Death to the defilers!

time to towel off

There is no plate ot bracket on mine. I made sure the dealer didn't put it on. If I had to choose something to put there if it had the bracket, it would be a Nascar plate.

I got my front license plate in the holder drilled thru the front bumper. Dealer had allready installed it. Its notso bad. It kind of grows on you. Plus I like NOT giving the the law a reason to stop you!

Yep. That's why mine's there and the hesitation to go with the '01 tail lights...understatement is my motto (can I say that driving an L?)
