That behind the seat black plastic toolbox

I took it out tonight to see what kind of room I'd have to install a sub system and maybe mount an amp, etc.

I put it in the back of the truck to get it out of the way and noticed it fits nicely back there. I have a black spray in LineX so it blends well.

Has anybody attached it back there for simple storage?

I used some large velcro pieces to hold it in place at floor level.
I know it doesn't lock but if I don't put it back inside, it's still useable.

Cool idea- Thanks! It would be perfect if the jack will fit in it since I took mine out to mount the amps. I think I'll go check now...

Also, I always thought all the boxes behind the seat were gray like mine. Is it black some years and gray others, or did everyone get whatever happened to be coming down the line when the truck was built?

Color of box?

Mark_2kL,
I've got a '00 also, but my box/tray is black. Maybe it's keyed to the body color ? I have the fastest color (red) ; what color is yours?

Lowner,
Get a lid and a Bedrug, and you've got a huge trunk...I've got my amp rack back there, and you could permanently mount the tray back there also.

Locosvt,

If I wanted a huge trunk I'd buy a Crown Vic.

The "cool looking" set up is the rug and hard lid. However, my L is primarily used as a truck to haul stuff. It just so happens to haul a$$ too.

I have a bed extender too. With the tailgate up a black 37" Contico box fits in there perfectly. It locks so I keep my tools and stuff in there. It's easy to reach and remove when I don't need it.
It helps keep the inside of the truck uncluttered and clean.

Now, on to setting up a cab shaking sound system.
