About that engine noise

My 01 has less that 1000 miles on it. I have always heard a noise at start up but I attributed it to S/C which I wasn't familiar with.

Now I am beginning to question the noise. It doesn't sound like the dreaded piston slap.

It sounds more like a slipping belt or valve clatter.

Now I read about engine flutter.

Seems to just be there at start up. Is this normal?

Let it run and check it again.

You could have same thing I have. It not piston slap, its more like the pulleys clicking or the trans. I haven't figured it out yet, but it comes and goes. It also went away when i had the S/C Belt off.

I hear a sucking noise at first start up when you mash the brake and put it in gear. Didnt hear this before the K&N filter though. Anyone ever hear this noise?
The only clicking noise I hear is injector pulse.

Mine just started making that same noise at 700 miles. Has 760 now. Will pay close attention to it to see if it gets louder ot not. I believe it is a pulley since i had the idler pulley replaced at 300 miles. Definately hope its not an internal engine problem

May be valve clatter due to the oil draining back/down overnight? After all, it's 5w20. I've noticed 'something'--too. Haven't worried about it---yet.

The supercharger noise you hear in the s/c snout is from the front snout bearings going out roots style blowers are infamous about that in fact i have read that roots style blowers only draw back is needing snouts and bearings replaced more often then other styles of blowers.
