Question Opinions please

Went to a local car show. Met a guy that sells stuff for our L's. Anyway he has a 2001 with him with the following mods.

Stock air box with drilled holes in the bottom.
Upper pulley
JBA Headers.

Thats it NO chip. He says 410 HP. Is that possible?

I would think that it is, since most L's are dynoing between 335 and 355 rear wheel hp stock If you figure in a 20% drivetrain loss it figures that they make about that much stock. Just my 2 cents.

Depends, if he means 410rwhp I doubt it from those mods.

If he means 410hp at the crank, definatly possible, thats only 30hp over stock.

No, and I don't even think that it would be 410 at the crank either...

Hey High - Actually it was at the crank. Be happy to show the WinPEP if you drop by the shop some time - Aug. 4 we have another Dyno day. Here were my last numbers:

Max POWER = 367.7
Max TORQUE - = 469.9

Figureing 11% driveline equals roughly 410.

No chip, I personally don't belive in them (my opinion).

Hey, hope we see you more at the SVTOA events, we had a blast at Sandia, and we'll have our new 2000 Cobra "R" at the next event.

Thanks for clearing that up Jeff. I could not remember if you said crank or rear wheels. I thought it was at the rear wheels with few mods, had me worried

Anyway it was nice to see the Cobra R and your 2001. Both looked great.

Yes it would be fun to come to the Dyno day on Aug 4. What time are you starting at? Are there any other L,s coming?

Just for the record, the drivetrain loss on a Lightning is 11.2% @ Max Torque. I hate seeing everyone saying 20-25 %, it's wrong..

Dyno day is NOT Ford specific, in fact its an Impala group that is first in line. We only have 15 cars scheduled so it should be no problem getting you in. Last time we had both the Viper club and these guys, and man what a blast..... I'll e-mail you the addy and times.
