board members alphadoggy to rtkilla had tranny problems

feel ford people eliminate the torque reduction cutout of
4 cylinders during shifts for a reason. the reason tranny
won't hold up.

played then paid the price

bought the 01L staying with the apperance mods love these
trucks

I probably will do the same, except for the Magnaflow and K&N. I'll watch the boards and see what happens down the road. As much as I would like a chip and stuff, I have too much money in this thing to blow it away.----Jim

So you are not going to mod your ultimate mod

Did you try having the dealer repair the transmission under warranty on the 00 ?

 

Upgrade your clutch packs and you'll not have a tranny problem again.

I am sorry to hear about you transmision going south on you, and wish you luck on the new truck.

I guess I am lucky I put my chip in when my truck was only a few weeks old,and have had no transmision problems at all. I have put 12,000 miles on it since then, and also have about 40 runs down the track. If it does go south on me I will have it built to handle all this power.

Maybee it is just the luck of the draw, if you get a bad transmision or a strong one.

01L fast enough for me stock

at stanton motorplex got the 00L lined up against
8 second mustang felt a little foolish. test and tune
could get ugly if that mustang lost control of that beast
on launch. just feel safer running real street cars & trucks
had great time at Byron lightning vs RT and
Milan Lightning vs RT wish there was more events like these.

leave the 8 second cars 10 second bikes & snowmobiles to
the pros

 

Flintstone - if you want a chip just have it made so that the chip has nothing to do with the tranny, ie -keep the 4cyl cut off, no line pressure increase, leave stock shift points alone

I'm going to keep mine stock as well (except for BaBolts tips). I would like to see what this thing will do in the1/4 mile, but theres no 1/4 strip around here

Flinstone,it is your L,do whith it what you want.Just look at it this way,you could have lined up with that 7 second mustang.Generally when they run 5;s or 6;s at mid michigan,they run each other or alone and these quick cars/rails are not there every week for t&t. I have a transgo shift kit and a hard hitting chip with 25k on my 00 with no tranny,engine or even intercooler problems but lots of 12s and grins.When it comes down to it ,i think its the luck of the draw as far as which L's holds up to modding and which do not. Mid michigan is not open for two weeks for t&t so i might make a run to lapeer tommorow to test my new drag shocks,maybe i will see you there.
