Thumbs up New to the board...

I am new to this board and just wanted to say hi. I am a Stang owner right now, but am thinking about becoming a Lightning owner soon.

I have some basic questions about Lightning. How "moddable" are they? What are some of the first things one should to a Lightning?

Thanks guys (and gals)...

Peace.

I am a former Cobra owner who saw the light and bought an L. I love driving a truck, I dont have to shift, I can beat most other sports cars on the street, and I can tow a boat. It doesnt get much better. I have put 18k on mine since September. Do it, I dont think you will regret it.

Chip (PSP, DiabloSport, JDM), filter (PSP's FAST Air, JLs RamAir, or just a plain Powerstack 12" conical), and a 2# lower blower pulley (PSP or JDM). All of this will put you DAMN close to the 12s (if not in them) for <$1500.

Welcome to the board. What's great about the Lightning is that it costs very little to make it significantly faster/quicker and more fun to drive. Chip/filter kit will cost ~$500 and get you 35-45hp at the wheels and drop ET's by 1/2 second or more. If you want to get more wild with it, there are plenty of things like pulleys, nitrous, etc.

Welcome Texas,
I too was a 'stang owner (three cobras, 2 GTs). This is my second lightning and I love these trucks. The L is more comfortable for me 'cause I'm 6'4" tall. Also the truck is half the cost to insure compared to my cobras. Chip, filter, pulley and 3.73's should get you into the 12's in cool weather.

What is the best intake/chip combo? Any info on JL's Ram Air systems?

Peace.

none have been proven to be better than another. it's a matter of personal preference and what programs you wish to order. power, shifting, etc is all up to you. the J/L ram air is great because i have one
