First time in my 99 L

I drove my truck For the first time today. I built it from a total wreck. I ran it on my g-tech meter. The first run 14.23@99.6 and then a 14.16@102.3 in the other direction. This truck is all stock,so I have lots of ???'s.How should I launch?Should I turn the O/D off?Should I manual shift? If so at what RPM? The truck has 30,000 miles on it,but was never ran hard at all.
I would like to thank Neil Minor for his help and the good deal he gave Me on his 2001 wheels and tires. Does anyone khow him?

Wow. Back from the dead. Good job on the resurection! OD is off, use drive and launch between 800 and 1200 depending on track weather. Pretty much just want to load up the driveline and not much more. It's a totally different story once mods come into play.

Looks like you did a awsome job bringing her back from the dead.

At the track when I launch it, I turn the overdrive off , I let the trans do all the shifting. I launch at about 800 rpm's and hold the right foot to the floor.

Look how easy it would have been to change the lower pulley in the "before I fixed it" picture.

Outstanding job on the rebuild. You have my respect. What happened to it before? Does it drive straight?

Yeah the truck drive perfect.I put a new frame under it.I even straightened up some factory flaws, like misaligned moldings.Put all 2001 lights and wheels.I have to give my friend David Selby credit for the paint.
Heres one more Photo.

J Selman,

Nice job on the rebuild...not exactly one of those stories about the sweet ride that's been collecting dust under a tarp in some old farmer's barn. Although $8,800 may or may not have been a steal if you had to replace the entire front clip AND the frame.

Quick question for you - do you have anymore pictures of th front of your truck? I am in the midst of deciding whether to do a Trenz billet grille or the Speed Grille like you've done. Hilander, who posts here also, has sent me pictures of his grille on a silver truck but it's tough to imagine what the grille will look like on a black truck. And then you came along... Also, did you have any problems installing the grille? From what Hilander has said the instructions and clips provided with the grille are weak, at best.

Thanks for your help,

Dan
