1st heard of lighting on car and driver a week ago. i was inpressed. got my ist look at one last nite. i think it looks great color is red and has the wheels chormed. this would be my 1st ford ever.i buy american made only. my ? is are these mecanily sound and trouble free as they are great looking. has anyone had any problems or recalls. i think the lighting is one great looking truck but want some feedfback form owners thank you for your time. Buy it... You won't regret it.

The Lightnings have thier "issues" like most vehicles, but mine has never seen the service department. I really think it depends on how you drive it. If you're at the drag strip every Saturday, be prepared to beg the dealer to fix it, often.
Drive it back a forth to work and around town, it's rock-solid and alot of fun, too. And it's red, so it's even better.

i wouldn't buy a used 99-00. cough up the xtra and go for an 01. i wouldn't buy a red one either. i couldn't afford the legal proceeding with the Hooters girls, pics all over internet, etc. unless i was a congressman or something.

 

Don't drive one unless you are prepared to buy one. Once you drive on you will be hooked and have to have one.

Thats what happened to me, I test drove a used 2000, and that week ordered a 2001.

I had never looked at one in person, or drove one. I ordered in Nov. and have not looked back. Nothing........... Well, maybe 1 or 2 things, could make me happier, or something.
