Anyone put 285/55/18 on their truck?
Don't know if you Lightning guys can put that size on your truck but I bought some Lightning wheels and this is the recommended size for my truck. I ran two treads on the Wheels and Tires board here but no answers yet. I have checked with Tire Rack and DTD and I only get 3 options. I just want to see I'm exhausting all my options for tires in this size before I purchase any. Anyone have any other recommendations?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
I know Silver-Bolt. I actually looked at that size too but the tread life and all season capability left something to be desired. Plus they cost a little more than I care to spend. 285/55/18 is the closest size to my 275/60/17 I have now. Looking at the Michelin Pilot LTX right now because of all season and tread life. I'm not looking for high performance truck tires. I just want something that will last and will get me through the winters in one piece.
I just mounted some 285/60R18 on my '01 rims while I wait for some replacement tire to come in. (Trying to find where the shake is coming from)
They are Toyo's, which I had on my '99 Denali. Would not NOT recommend these tires for winter driving. They are M+S rated but they blow in the snow. Also very noisy.
Can take a picture if you want to email me at twood@wipi.ca. I will send photo. Beyond that, what information are you after. Whether they fit, or other tire recommendations?

I had nitto nt404 on my expedition great in rain, pretty
good in snow,They dont have the all terrain tread its
more of a street tread.I had 17s in 305 . I think they
have 305/55/18 under 200 a tire and will fill up the
wheel well pretty nice.

TrashGuy, I called DTD and checked on those 305/55/18. Unfortunately those won't work on my truck.
Looks like I'm going to have to stick with the 295/45/18's that come stock or the 285/55/18's.
What04, I am just looking for different brands other than what TR and DTD have that might come in the two sizes. Thanks for the pic offer but if you don't recommend your Toyo's for all season then I wouldn't want you to waste your time. But thank you seriously.
It's looking like my options are limited to the Michelin Pilot LTX. Just not crazy about the looks.
Thanks guys.
