Anti theft suggestions

I'm looking for some suggestions temporary anti theft ideas. I'm going out of town for a few days and I'll be leaving my L in a carport at my girlfriends condo. I'm a little nervous because there of been a couple of cars stolen there within the last year.

I was thinking about pulling the battery out. Anyone have any other ideas of something I can do that is easily reversible when I get back?

Cool

With the pats anti-theft system built in it would be hard to steal it unless they're a pro. You might also pop the hood and look in the fuse box next to the driverside fender for the fuel pump fuse. The owners manual has a layout of the fuse box to help you find it if there is one in that fuse box. If not look for one inside the truck.

Yeah, I think the fuel pump fuse is a good idea. These trucks are difficult to steal the way they are. I left my L at work for two weeks when I was in California for business and I removed the battery. Just to make sure!

Talking

You could always bring it down my way, and I'll stick it in my garage right next to mine...

I would be more worried about items that could be removed from the truck. Clean out the inside of all valuable, remove the spare if you are real paranoid. A sure way for them not to start it would be remove the computer. If they want the truck that bad they will just tow it.

I'd also reccommend wheel locks if you do not already have them.

Unhappy

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, BUT if a thief wants your vehicle bad enough, he will just back up a roll-on wrecker behind it and SEE YA

Wink

A "Protected by Smith and Wesson" sticker might deter some...

Uhh, yea, those are all great suggestions, but.....
Why not just leave it in your garage, or somewhere safe where you don't have to worry about it being stolen or anything happening to it??? You have to know someone with a garage or a house around you that you can park it @.
