how fast with factory exhaust?

ok, im just starting to hop up my 01, and the exhaust is really the last thing i want to have to mess with, partly because of cost, and partly because i hate loud trucks. Working at the ford dealership, i get to hear all the regular f150s with the fake duals and no mufflers, anyway, i just like the way it sounds with factory exhaust.

so lets see some 1/8 and 1/4 mile times with complete factory exhaust.

The other day when I was traveling at about 80 MPH, the exhaust system seem to be going about the same speed.

dude, you are always doing that! like the reply you made yesterday about the fastest 01, or as you put it, quickest or fastest. I guess i should have said "what the best ET anyone has run so far with the factory exhaust still hooked up, not laying in the bed, or in the cab" Did i leave any holes open in that one, haha.

I don't have an et for you or an expierience with exhaust yet!

I know everyone says that it does nothing and maybe it does, but if you look in the sigs of most of the fastest or quickest trucks on the site, they almost all have some form of exhaust mod.

I don't know if that means anything, but I think it says something.

My 2 cents worth
Paul

I'm glad you understood it was a joke. I didn't realize I got you twice.

Regarding the exhaust and your question, most of I've read shows that the performance gains from a non-stock exhaust are minimal, and probably negligible for the average modified Lightning.

BTW, regarding your other post, I think Ruslow's pushing 170 mph.

The guys that bought the Bassani $1500 exhaust system and dynoed before and after got ZERO increase in horsepower. Many have changed mufflers because the stock ones leak at the seams and don't sound cool. If you like loud go with the flowmasters, If you like a low cool rumble at the Sonic that is not real loud except at WOT, try the Elderbrock 5512. Thats what I have. The front will fit onto the existing head exhaust pipes but my guy had to build new tail pipes from the muffler to the tips. Cost 110 for the muffler, 150 for the installation and materials.

Moral--Stock system flows good.

I will have to agree with noelvm and say that there is no horsepower increse with aftermarket exhaust. I have the Borla setup and I love it, it sounds awesome, especially at WOT If you watch the "Track Video" you can really hear the Borla.

Johnny Lightning's in the low 12s(12.06&114-I think) w/MT streets and stock exhaust.

Just read a more recent post from Johnny Lightning and he has changed exhaust systems--SORRY guys...

I can't get below 13.477 & 102.54 on my F1s. Ordered M/Ts yesterday(and ARE Baja wheels). I feel a '12' comin' on!

Exclamation

No gain from exhaust mods. Have seen loss of performance with 2 of the cats removed on one truck. "Totaled" runs mid 12's with stock exhaust.

noelvm & 2 Fast -

I spent $1476 on the long tube headers, high flow cats, H-pipe and Dynomax Race Magnums....everything installed. I feel good because I got some real hp and not just sound improvement. Max hp increase was ~12 and peak was 7. I think there was probably a little more there 'cause the after run was done when the motor was pretty hot; also a little tuning to the exhaust would probably help.

Seems like alot of money but compared to what others are spending & having to do the install; I feel that my system was worth it. HP gets pretty expensive the higher you go.
