I'd be in for a set for sure. Anything to get the slop of my Gen 2 down to Gen 1 levels (just for all the gen2 vrs gen 1 comments...)

Bushings

Count me in. In the development, the bushing manufacturer needs to engineer not only the shape/size but the stiffness.

Here is what I have.

Control arm bushings P/N 6-212 $69.95 (all 8 bushings)

Front sway bar mount P/N 6-1130 $39.95

The company name is Quickor Suspensions 503-654-2175. The contact name is John. This is not a group buy, just relaying useful information.

Couple of questions:

What parts does this mean they are not producing that we had hoped they would?
If not all of the "necessary" bushings are being produced, would there even be a noticable handling improvement with just the few they offer?
How tough is the install; is it a do-it-yourself at home type of deal?

Thanks. later...

Garrett

I am very interested in this kit for my truck.

This would make the ride allot smoother and fix allot of squeaks?

BOB.

I know that this would improve my handling, but wouldn't it also make the truck driv better then now.

I've never done anything like this with any vehicle, so I kinda lost. But the Idea sounds good to me. What exactly should I expect from a mod such as this one?

Throwing Joe a Bone :)

Killa,

I had a 5.0 that had a full compliment of urethane bushings, among other things.

It handled great but the dowside to installing them is ride quality takes a nose dive.

Rubber bushings flex (somewhat) under normal driving conditions to provide comfort to passengers. Under heavy load they most certainly flex and send inaccurate data/feedback to the driver as to what and how the vehicle is doing, behaving, etc. They also prevent suspension pieces from working in unison.

Urethane bushing flex ratings are much less so the feedback drivers experience is accurate (in comparison) and helps prevent under/overcompensation.

cliff notes version....

Make sense?

What is missing from complete is the front sway bar end link bushings, rear sway bar mounts and end links, rear leaf spring mount bushings. The install is very easy on the sway bar mount. Just two bolts on each side. The control arm bushings are more involved. Both you uper and lower A-arms have to come off. The old rubber bushings removed (can be a bitch) and the new bushings pressed in. Best done when installing a lowering kit. You would already have it apart.

What you will gain is much improved handle. More responsive. Small reduction in bump steer (see Ruslow for complete fix). Quicker response to steering input. The ride will be much firmer. Possibly more road noise.

I plan to do the control arm bushing when I install the new springs. The sway bar bushing I am not going to do. I plan to change both bars.
