Unhappy fuel mileage went south

for the last two fillups i have noticed a 30 or so mile loss per tank, its about 11.5 mpg to my normal 13.0 or so miles per gallon.
i do have a chip and only thing i have done recently is a oil, trans fluid and fuel filter change. it has been very warm, about 90 to 92, lately, could the computer be compensating for the weather, also noticed my exhaust tips are getting black faster , possibly a rich comdition..only other thing i notice is at idle seems to vibrate more but that could be the fact that im looking at thing more now since i noticed a problem..

thanks for any input

jim.....

All things being the same except for some fluid changes, it may just be the shipment of gas in that area wasn't quite what it normally was...13 mpg normally? That's pretty good, I only average 10

Wink

Mine has always been around 13 mpg without a chip. With the JDM chip installed with my below mods, it is getting almost 16 mpg. Either the "summer mix" gas along with running the A/C is costing you, or you've got a sensor that isn't quite right. The vibration at idle would be a big indicator of something wrong to me, especially if it didn't do it before. It shouldn't be major though, so don't be worried.

The black, sooty tips are normal with a chip.

Whats gas mileage?????

I know exactly what your talking about!! When the truck was stock I was getting around 20-21 mpg and after I put the chip and filter in I don't know what I am getting but it isn't close to what I was getting before. Probably around 9-10mpg now:o

No flame but there is NO way you were getting 20mpg.It just is not possible, one other thing is there is no way your fuel mileage drops in half under *any* conditions and i use this term any as any person would..........
