Does the 01 Tow Package include a brake controller of some sort? If so, is it LED digital output ??

Also is the power connector 6 or 7 way..

AND if per chance, my dealer does not locate an 01 Lightning with a tow package (I do not want this to get in the way) what are your thoughts about just getting U-Haul to install one? (Drawtite brands....)

I'm not sure about the brake controller, but there are both the 7 way and 4 way connectors located by the hitch.

Also, the tow package is standard on the Lightning.

There is NO brake controller. With most vehicles you have to install this yourself. Or atleast every pickup I've ever owned.

 

They are pre-wired for the brake controller. The wiring pigtail and connector came in the glovebox of my '01.
