Lightning Supecharger, newbie!

now i mean it when i say i don't know jack crap about these cars. i've just been reading the posts and stuff for a couple of days trying to get used to the talk here.

1) does the lighting come stock with a supercharger?
2) what brand or kind is it?
3) can you install aaftermarket supercharger on it?(procharger, powerdyne)
4) would it replace the stock supercharger(if it comes stock with one) or does it go before it or something like that?
5) anyone who has does this can you please tell me more or give me a link to a good discussion?

thanks,

jeff

the supercharger is a Eaton-Model 112, Generation 4, 8psi mechanical boost. I am not sure about aftermarket S/Cs, I have not heard or seen anybody use an aftermarket on these trucks. I think these superchargers are pretty good. That FAQ will help you a lot with what these trucks can do and are capable of doing

Paxton was working on a dual supercharger setup with a novi 2000 on the truck, but you really don't need it if you just want to run fast. If you want to go sick fast then you better just take out this motor and put a 351 in her. Thats what I'm debating on doing day by day. But these trucks do fly with a little bit of aftermarket parts. The bottle in the bed always helps out too!

I'm putting a Lightning Supercharged motor in my 2003 F-150 100th anniversary heritage edition - any recommendations? It looks like the tard that sold me the motor has the wrong induction system installed - he drilled holes in the mounting flange on the Eaton but there are no supports on the bottom for them... Any ideas?

unfortuantly you are going to have to post some pics, but it sounds like you bought a '99-'00 eaton with a '01-'04 midplate and lower

Pictures posted below - I bought another one from a 99' that is new to replace it with, but will it fit on my 2003 engine? Is there any noticable diffeence between the 99 - 00 and 01 - 04 gear other than the way the blower fits the mid plate or can I use a 99 - 00 setup on a 2003 block?

Thanks for all the help!

Here is what I am buying to replace it... The seller says the new one is from a 99' but it should fit right? When I look at the new S/C it looks like it will fit the other mid-plate as well so maybe the S/C is for a 99???

If anyone can help I am extremely confused!!!

as far as bolting it to your heads, no problems

as far as the gaps, you're gonna have to fill 'em otherwise the eaton won't seal right...

Any difference in horsepower?

Thanks!

I'm thinkin' YES... I wanted to put an SC engine in to get all the wiring and tune right - once I have that nailed down adn the transmission combo dialed in its on to bigger and better horsepower!
