2002 Zr-06
A 2002 ZO6 should be quite a car, 405 H.P. and all. It would be a tough choice, one that I have thought about more than once. I would have to flip a coin, I guess, but either way both are great choices in my opinion.

My Yellow C5 is a 2000 6 speed coupe, & it is a fabulous automobile. My L is a Black 2001, I drive the L 80% of the time. If GM will put the Z06 drivetrain in the coupe I'll trade the Vette for one. I'm not a fan of the Hardtop at all. It looks OK I guess, it simply doesn't appeal to me like the coupe does. But back to your question...you won't be sorry with either choice. The Z06 is exceptional, & I will probably not be without a C5 in my garage, but neither will I be without an L. The Z06 is exactly what it should be, meeting everyone's lofty expectations. What I like the most about my L is that it EXCEEDS every expectation & never ceases to amaze even the most jaded of auto enthusiasts. Oh, & it makes me grin every time I spool up the S/C. Good luck.
Tough choice, what makes it tougher is the Z06 is probably just as good a daily driver as the L, with a better sound system. Do you ever haul/tow anything? If not, I would say the Z06 is probably more exciting to drive, and of course will run circles around an L.
Yeah, the Z06 will run circles around an L because of the great aerodynamics the Ls have...LOL! but I can vouch for the launching of a Z06 I recently raced, either this guy didn't know how to drive(I am going with that situation) or the Z06 was a wheel spin monster, I left him 3-4 car lenths at the line. I don't know how I would measure up with a good driver who could stick every gear.
I would just put the "big blue bottle" behind your seat and go out Z06 hunting and save a little over 20 grand in the process!!

GOTECHS: I can tell you this: If I can't afford the '02 Z06, then I will go with the L. Both are great rides and are the best in their fields. You can always buy out of state and save big $$$ and have a coutesy delivery or a drop shipment arranged. There are several dealerships in the south that are offering discounts on '02 Zs. Maxie Price in Atlanta is trying to get rid of their '01 Zs by selling them at $6K off MSRP.
HANKFAN: I'll let ya know as soon as I get my order in. I got a Digital Camcorder waiting just for you. If all goes well, I should have it before November if I can get an order in by the end of August. I plan on keeping her stock for a while until I can replenish the savings. See ya........

Yellow00- I witnessed this weekend just how nasty a correctly driven Z06 can be. My friend has a 98 LS1 T/A with cam, ported heads and most every bolt race a brand new 01 Z06. The Z06 simply blistered the T/A. It was around 5 car lenghts in the 1/4. I have raced my friends T/A in my L without nitrous and I only beat him by 2 1/2 car lenghts. So if you get the Z, I might have to make sure I got a full 10 pound bottle when I make the trip to Nashville !!
