Unhappy My truck needs help!

Here is the situation:

Bought my 00L and ran a stock best of 14.03 at 97.45 mph in about 75 deg weather (w/full tank!). Bought a JDM chip in May and kept stock 80 mm airbox. Went a best of 13.54 at around 100 mph in comparable temperature and ran consistent 13.6 and 7's. Bought the JDM 90 mm kit and got the warm weather reburn and ran a best of 13.47 at 102.34 mph in about 68 degrees. These were all with consistent 60 fts of 2.0x-2.1x and all on F1's.

Last three times at track have been at NIGHT in cooler weather. I am running consistent 13.6's - 13.9's in 60 degree weather depending on the stock 01 airbox or JDM filter. I went last night and tonight both and am running 6's-8's ALL NIGHT w/same 60's and F1's. The last two runs tonight felt siper weak and the shifting was almost like stock I can't figure it out. My chip has always been taped in so it won't jiggle loose and I am only running a best of 3-4 tenths better than my best stock time???

Can a chip go bad??? Can the contact on the PCM get worse? Do I have a tranny slip???

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When is the last time you cleared the computer, if you haven't done so, you might try pulling the negative battery cable for about 15 minutes. That might sharpen it up a little.

Make sure you take the chip out first before you disconnect the battery is what i have been told by tuners otherwise you run a small chance in deleting some of the memory in the chip!

Matt I have always disconnected the battery first then pulled the harness off of the pcm then pulled the pcm and removed the chip. I have never had a problem with memory being erased. I didn't know you could mess a chip up by disconnecting the battery.

I have never heard of that either! Every time I flip from street to strip I have disconnect the battery and I have never had a problem with performance.

Several months ago i was talking to Jim at JDM and we were discussing reseting the computer and he asked me if i took the chip out before i dissconnected the battery because it was possible but not for sure that it could cause some things to be erased! I am just cautious i guess!!!
